St. Lucia Beaches

One worth mentioning fact about St. Lucia beaches is that they are all public. The beaches on the western side of the island are gifted with the placid, deep blue water that are excellent for swimming and other water sports. On the eastern side, the water derives its tumultuous nature from the Atlantic Ocean. Exploring the western on as jeep or horseback can be a good idea but don't venture into the water for swimming. As you hop from one St. Lucia Beach to the other, you would be awe-struck at the beauty and variety Nature has endowed each one with.

Anse Chastenet Beach - The color of the sand bears ample testimony to the volcanic origin of the island. The spectacular palm-lined bays skirted by the lofty mountains are breathtaking in the true sense of the term. This beach is a paradise form snorkelers and divers. You can view the teeming ocean life without venturing too far into the deep waters.

Jalousie Beach - The transparent water, the white sand and its strategic positioning between the two volcanic peaks of Gros and Petit Piton is well - loved by the sunbathers. The 1,800 foot dropoff at the piton base is a challenge for any seasoned snorkeler and scuba divers. Feeding the fish from the pontoon will give you a curious pleasure.

Anse de Sables - Among the St. Lucia Beaches, this beach is a winner as the best windsurfing spot, hands down. In spite of its location in the windward side of the island, the surf is far from being rough and is quite suitable for swimming. The fine, smooth white sand are a welcome change from the black sand beaches that dot the island. You can easily access the place and it is slowly gaining popularity among those who delight in soaking up the sun.

Travour is an International travel site that unravels the beauty of the St. Lucia beaches and other exotic beaches round the world. Come, explore the grandeur!
