Neuschwanstein Castle Germany

New Year in Germany | Sightseeing in Germany | Flights to Germany

Neuschwanstein Castle, the Sleeping Beauty Castle of Germany is widely acclaimed for its architectural excellence. To a tourist, the castle might look as something that has emerged straight out of the folktales and fairytales. Located within close proximity of the Austrian border, Neuschwanstein Castle happens to be one of the most visited castles in Europe. Due the breathtaking beauty that the castle offers, it has appeared in several movies. The Neuschwanstein Castle is actually a 19th century creation and was a Bavarian Palace build on a rugged hill within close proximity with Hohenschwangau and Fussen. These places are located in the south west Bavaria in Germany. The Palace was initially called New Hohenschwangau Castle and was renamed as Neuschwanstein Castle later on.

According to reports and records, the castle is annually visited by approximately 1.3 million people. Inspired by the Sleeping Beauty Castle, Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Park, this castle is a real treat to the eyes for the tourists. The interior of the castle is adorned by rare oil paintings. Being a palace, this castle also boasts decorated throne room which has a glass made gemstone studded chandelier. The master bedroom of the king is also worth seeing for its grandeur and superior décor. One can catch a glimpse of the picturesque oratory which features an ivory crucifix. Again a tourist can also venture the Singers’ Hall that is the venue for the performances by the musicians and the playwrights under the Royal patronage.

One will surely be awestruck on visiting this most beautiful and architecturally perfect castle of Germany. The visit to Germany will be incomplete if one fails to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle.
