The match schedule for the 9th ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 in West
Indies has been announced, and opening match of this largest
edition of cricket will be played on March 13, 2007 between
the host West Indies and Pakistan at Sabina Park Stadium in
Jamaica. The Group Stage matched has been scheduled during
13-25 March 2007, followed by the Second Stage Super 8 matches.
A total of 16 teams, divided in 4 groups, would compete in
the first stage, and two top teams from each group will qualify
for the Super 8 matches.
The Second Stage Super 8 matches would be played during March
27- April 21, 2007 at Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Guyana
and Barbados. A total of 24 matches would be played in Super
8 Series, and 4 top teams from Super 8 would qualify for the
Semi-finals on April 24 and April 25, 2007.
