England hammered debutants Bermuda for a 241-run victory in a warm-up match, setting up the perfect stage for their Cricket World Cup 2007 campaign. Played at the Arnos Vale Cricket Stadium in St. Vincent, the England vs. Bermuda warm-up match result has been quite a shocker for minnows Bermuda. On their debut campaign in the Cricket World Cup, Bermudans were bundled out for a meager 45 runs after the Englishmen scored 286 runs at the loss of eight wickets.
For England, Jamie Dalymple scored a blistering 76, with Ian Bell pitching in with a useful 46. Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, England had lost six wickets at 186 runs at one stage of the game. However, they were rescued by Dalymple’s wizardry.
Nothing went right for the Bermudans in their warm-up game against England as none of their batsmen – except one – managed to reach double figures. David Hemp was their top scorer with 11 runs. James Anderson and Jon Lewis were the wreckers-in-chief for England, with the latter pocketing a magnificent three wickets for seven runs.
