    1. Who are authorized to sell tickets for the 2006 World Cup in Germany?
    There are two ways of purchasing tickets as far as the general public is concerned. The first option is to buy tickets from the FIFA World Cup Ticketing Center located in Frankfurt, Germany which happens to be the primary ticket seller for the general public worldwide.
    Another alternative for those members of the general public who have been unsuccessful in their attempts to purchase tickets from FWCTC Frankfurt, is from the Participating Member Associations whose teams have qualified for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. FIFA has provided each Participating Member Association with a fixed quota of tickets which may be sold to the general public by the Participating Member Association.

    2. When does the ticket sale begin and how does one buy tickets?
    The second phase of ticket sales for the 2006 World Cup commenced from 2nd May 2005 at 12'o clock Central European Summer Time. Tickets will be sold on first come first served basis.


    There is a unique provision wherein Team specific tickets may be purchased for those members of the general public who wish to go on the trail of a particular team as it advances through the competition. However, TST tickets will not be available for the below mentioned nations in the initial stages of the tournament due to high level of demand - USA, Netherlands, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Germany, England, Argentina, Ireland, Japan, Italy and Mexico.
    It must be borne in mind that persons applying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup tickets must be aged 18 years or above. Anyone fulfilling the age criterion can in turn apply for tickets for under aged applicants i.e. someone below 18 years.
    3. What is the cost of tickets and how many sales phases are there?
    Single tickets are categorized into four price categories. The cheapest tickets for preliminary matches cost €35. The most expensive tickets at the preliminary stage cost €100. For the Final the cheapest ticket costs €120 and the most expensive is pegged at €600.

    To ensure a free and fair ticketing process and to provide tickets to as many interested parties as possible to obtain tickets, ticket sales will be held in five phases. No applications will be accepted in between sales phases..
    The fourth sales phase for the World Cup match tickets commences from 15 February 2006 at 12'O clock Central European Time on a first come, first served basis. This means that applications will be scrutinized in the order they were received. New tickets will become available as a result of the latest stadium seating arrangements. Naturally more tickets will be available at later stages rather than at the beginning.

    4. How many categories of tickets are there?
    All the 64 matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany will be an all-seater affair. Tickets can be categorized as individual tickets or Team Specific Tickets. Single tickets are valid for just one match while the Team Specific Tickets will be valid for all the matches played by the specified team. Members of the general public who apply for individual tickets can't apply for Team Specific Tickets. And applicants for Team Specific Tickets can't apply for individual tickets.

    TST tickets are issued series wise and are valid for all the matches featuring a specific team. A Team Specific Ticket permits the person to attend on a conservative basis a specific team's preliminary matches and provided the TST variant is favorable, advanced stage matches leading up to the Final too is a probability.
    5. How many tickets can a person buy? Can the tickets be transferred to another person?

    Individual tickets are available in four categories. At a time a person may apply for four individual tickets covering a maximum of seven matches in categories ranging from 1-3. In category 4, which happens to be the cheapest, a maximum of two individual tickets covering three matches can be availed. While In the TST category, one may apply for a maximum of four TST tickets per household. FIFA has defined "Household" as one surname per address.

    Each household/applicant is entitled to apply for only one price category per match. This price category rule is applicable to all joint applicants mentioned on the application form. As an applicant you can't apply for tickets to more than one game on the same day.

    Reselling or re-allocating of any ticket is strictly prohibited. Reselling or re-allocating is possible only with the approval of the Organising Committee of the 2006 FIFA World Cup). The right to watch a particular match is provided only to the applicant or joint applicant and is in no way variable and transferable except through the discretion of the Organising Committee of the 2006 FIFA World Cup . Re-selling tickets without the prior permission of the Organising Committee of the 2006 FIFA World Cup will be considered as an act of ticket peddling / black marketing and will result in the ticket being cancelled

    6. What is the mode of payment?
    The FIFA World Cup Germany's Organizing Committee has chosen the Master Card as the exclusive card payment option for the 2006 World Cup. Master Card will be accepted as a means for payment by card In the first four sales phases. However, there are other payment methods as well like direct debit for customers if he or she has a German bank account and bank transfer for overseas customers not holding a German bank account.

    Special Rules are applicable for Bank Transfer for Non-Euro region residents.

    7. When will I receive the match ticket?
    Tickets will be delivered to the applicants six to eight weeks ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany. It is crucial for you to provide a legitimate delivery address as your address will be permanently stored on the databank to the 2006 FIFA World Cup Ticketing Center.
    8. Is there any way I can keep track of my application?
    You can track the status of your application at any time by logging in with your user name and password to the official website of FIFA at www.FIFAworldcup.com You are required to provide a valid E-mail address at the time of filling up your online, postal or fax application.     12. What is the modus operandi of Participating Member Association Ticket Sales?
    Participating Member Associations will be allocated with a certain quota of tickets both Fixed and Conditional tickets to members of the general public. Fixed tickets are tickets which do not have any conditions or provisions attached to them. Conditional tickets are tickets which are fully dependent upon the performance of a Member Association in the subsequent Second Round Match. Once a Member Association gets eliminated, the ticket looses its privileges for all the ensuing Second Round matches and all applicants who paid for such Conditional tickets shall be entitled to a refund from their respective Member Association.

    The number of Conditional tickets allocated to each Member Association will depend on the stadium capacity in which the concerned Member Association's national team is scheduled to play during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. A Final Draw will be held on 9th December 2005 and tickets will be allocated to each of the Participating Member Association in a manner which correspond to 8%of all purchasable tickets in the stadium in which the concerned Member Association is scheduled to play its preliminary matches, or where it may progress to play its subsequent Second Round Matches.

    Ticket sales for both Fixed and Conditional tickets will begin once confirmation of the Member Association's qualification for the finals of the 2006 FIFA World Cup is officially confirmed. The Participating Member Association will make available the details of tickets to the general public in due course of time. One has to bear in mind that there will be 32 Participating Member Associations for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.     In case a Member Association's national team gets eliminated, the Conditional Tickets loose their privileges for Second Round matches subsequent to the elimination of the concerned Team and applicants will be entitled for a refund from the Member Association.
