Iran draws with Angola (1-1)
Iran drew with Angola 1-1 in an exciting Group D contest in Leipzig on 21 June 2006. The World Cup debutant Angola scored their first-ever goal in the tournament when Flavio produced a superb goal in the 60th-minute. But Iran fought back well with an equalizer from Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh in the 75-minute, ending Angola's slim hopes of qualifying from Group D. Ze Kalanga (ANG) was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his good all-round performance.

Portugal beats Mexico (2-1)
Portugal defeated Mexico 2-1 in an enthralling Group D match in Gelsenkirchen on 21 June 2006. Maniche struck a spectacular goal in the 6th minute of the match followed by a goal form teammate Simao Sabrosa in the 24-th minute. Mexico fought back well with a goal from Jose Fonseca in the 29-th minute, but Portugal hold them well till last to avoid an equalizer. Both Portugal and Mexico have qualified for the Round of 16. Portugal will take on Netherlands, while Mexico will play against Argentina in the Round of 16. Jose Fonseca (MEX) was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his superb all-round performance.

Angola draws with Mexico (0-0)
The debutant Angola has impressed everyone with their spectacular performance in the World Cup 2006. After losing narrowly (1-0) to Portugal in their opening World Cup match, they hold Mexico to a goalless draw in an exciting Group D contest in Hanover on 16 June 2006. Angola registered their first ever FIFA World Cup point in the game and still have a chance of making the second round. The Angolan goalkeeper Ricardo Joao was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his amazing goalkeeping.
Mexico crushes Iran 3-1
Mexico started its World Cup campaign in a dream way by defeating Iran 3-1 in its opening Group B contest in Nuremberg on June 11, 2006. Both teams played with their full potential and produced a highly entertaining match. Iran showed no sign of nervousness against favorite Mexico and looked impressive throughout the game, but their careless attitude towards the close cost them heavily. Mexicans scored twice in the final 20 minutes, producing a dramatic victory for their country. Mexican star striker Omar Bravo scored the first goal in 28' but just 8 minutes later Iran produced an equalizer through Yahya Golmohammadi. When the game was looking a possible draw, a mistake in the Iranian defence led Bravo strike again in 76-minutes, followed by a goal from teammate ZINHA after 3 minutes. Omar Bravo was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his 2 spectacular goals and all-round performance.
Portugal overcomes indefatigable Angola 1-0
Portugal, tipped as one of the favorites to win the World Cup, had to struggle really hard to maintain its early lead over debutant Angola in a highly entertaining Group D contest in Cologne on 11 June 2006. Though Portugal finally managed to defeat Angola 1-0, Angolans never lost hope to produce an equalizer and impressed everyone with their amazing display. It was the early decisive goal by PAULETA in 4th minute of the game that sealed the fate of the game in Portugal's favor. Portugal captain Figo Luis was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his excellent all-round performance.
