Paraguay defeats Trinidad & Tobago (2-0)
Paraguay defeated Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 and restored some pride in their final Group B match in Kaiserslautern on 20 June 2006. Paraguay striker Brent Sancho scored the first goal in the 25-th minute, followed by a goal from teammate Nelson Cuevas in the 86th minute, eliminating the threat of equalizer from Trinidad and Tobago. Julio Santos (PAR) was declared Man-of-the-Match for his superb all-round performance.
Sweden draws with England (2-2)
Sweden drew with England in a highly entertaining Group B contest in Cologne on 20 June 2006. With this draw both European teams qualified for the Round of 16, starting from 24 June 2006. England took the lead in the 34-th minute through a spectacular goal from Joe Cole. Marcus Allback produced an equalizer for Sweden in 51-st minute. England again took a 2-1 lead in the 85-th minute, and when they're looking sure winner Swedish striker Henrik Larsson struck an equalizer in the last minute of the game. Joe Cole was declared Man-of-the-Match for his good all-round performance.

England defeats Trinidad & Tobago (2-0)
England defeated Trinidad and Tobago (2-0) in their second Group B contest in Nuremberg on 15 June 2006, and qualified for the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup Germany. Trinidad and Tobago displayed a remarkable performance but failed to hold English striker in the last 10 minutes of the game. Peter Crouch struck the first goal for England in (83'), while Steven Gerrard scored second goal in injury time in (91+'). David Beckham was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his extraordinary all-round performance.
Sweden overcomes defiant Paraguay (1-0)
Thanks to the last minute goal from Freddie Ljunberg, Sweden managed to overcome defiant Paraguay (1-0) in a highly entertaining Group B contest in Berlin on 15 June 2006. The decisive goal came from the header of Freddie Ljunberg in (89'), ending the hopes of Paraguay to progress to the second round. Freddie was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his spectacular goal and good all-round performance.
Trinidad & Tobago draws with Sweden (0-0)
The debutants Trinidad & Tobago started its World Cup campaign in a dream way by drawing with favorite Sweden in an exciting Group B contest in Dortmund on 10 June 2006. Both teams played with great determination and had their share of chances and misses. Sweden struggled really hard to get a lead even when opposition midfielder Avery John was shown a red card and had to pull off just after the interval. Playing with ten men for the entire second half Trinidad & Tobago showed no lack of tactical discipline to hold the favorite Sweden to a goalless draw. Dwight Yorke of Trinidad and Tobago was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his all-round performance.
England beats Paraguay (1-0)
England started its FIFA World Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over Paraguay in the hard-fought Group B opening contest in Frankfurt on June 11, 2006. Both teams played with their full potential and had their share of chances and misses. Thanks to an early goal from striker Carlos Gamarra in just 3' of start of the game that provided an early lead to England. Paraguay fought really well to bring an equalizer in the second-half and gave England a tough time to hold their lead. Frank Lampard of England was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his extraordinary all-round performance.
