Bayonne United States is an important port city of North America. The city is known for its fantastic ports and the marvelous hotels. Many international cruise liners halt at this port while on a voyage. Its importance is at par with any other international cruise port of the country.

Location:

Bayonne is located on the Hudson River. It is connected to the Staten Island, New York by the famous Bayonne Bridge. The bridge is made of steel. The port city is basically located in New Jersey.

Brief History:

The city of Bayonne is a pretty ancient city. It has industries, which have been operating since 1875. Trading operations started in this place as early as 1650, when the Dutch traders came and settled in this little city. Since then it has acquired a lot of importance in the history of America's economic and trade development. The British gained possession in 1664. The port was the place from where military ocean liners used to depart. The Military Ocean terminal was opened here in 1942. However it was closed in 1999. There after it became a major cruise terminal of the country.

Bayonne-A Cruise Port:

Bayonne United States is today the home for many international cruise lines. Located at a distance of 10 miles from Newark International Airport and 30 miles from John F. Kennedy Airport, it is a convenient place for tourists to embark on their cruise vacations. They can take a flight to these airports and then board the cruise ships. The name of Bayonne's Port is Cape Liberty. The port is built on a 430-acre man-made peninsula. The port has a ship-repairing yard called The Naval-Dry Dock. The Bayonne port is basically hoe to the cruise sips sailing to the Caribbean and other places. Some of the Cruise liners are Carnival Cruises, Holland America Line Cruises, Star Cruises and Crystal Cruises.

Bayonne-A City:

As a city, Bayonne is known for it fantastic and magnificent hotels and restaurants. Tourists can put up in these hotels and visit the city and neighboring areas. The city is very close to Manhattan and so travelers can visit this city also. The port has a car parking facility, which is very convenient for the travelers. Some of the restaurants are Metropolitan Grill, Amici's Restaurant and Mc Fadden Restaurant.
