"O Little Town of Bethlehem"… is a famous composition of Rector Phillips Brooks of Philadelphia. The poem was composed in 1868 after his pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The splendid view of Bethlehem from the hills of Palestine fascinated him and he wrote a beautiful poem on it.
O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight
