Father Christmas in Chile is known as Viejito Pascuero. He arrives with beautiful Christmas gifts for small kids and wishes everyone 'Feliz Navidad', i.e. Merry Christmas! Nine days before Christmas celebrations, people in Chile start observing prayer, along with spiritual preparation known as novena. According to Christmas traditions in Chile, Midnight Mass of Rooster follows the Christmas Eve meal. The major highlights of Christmas Eve meal are Azuela de ave, a chicken soup with potatoes, onions and other is the Pan de Pasqua. It is usually Christmas bread with stuffing of candied fruit.
